Speaker: Rob Wood, Chief Executive Officer, Melbourne Polytechnic - Topic: What career options will our young people have? - education in a knowledge economy
Rob Wood joined Melbourne Polytechnic as Chief Executive Officer in 2015. Prior to commencing at Melbourne Polytechnic, Rob worked for the Victorian Government assisting the Department of Education through much of its vocational education reforms. Rob has over 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors with numerous executive roles including Deputy Minister of Education in British Columbia and Deputy Minister of Community Services in Nova Scotia. He has also held executive roles as Assistant Deputy Minister of Court Services and Executive Director of the Ministry of Housing and Social Development in British Columbia. Rob has also spent 10 years in private sector telecommunications where he held a variety of leadership and business development roles. Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. He lives in Melbourne with his wife Kerry and their two young children.
