Lyell Strambi joined Australia Pacific Airport Corporation, owners and operators of Melbourne and Launceston airports as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in September 2015. Lyell is a senior executive with a wide range of experience gained in the challenging and complex aviation sector both in Australia and internationally. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Qantas Domestic, after joining the airline as Group Executive Operations. Previously Lyell was based in London as Chief Operating Officer of Virgin Atlantic Airways. He commenced his career with Ansett Airlines in finance and strategic planning roles before moving into operationally focused positions. Lyell brings a successful track record of major project delivery with a strong customer focus, making him perfectly placed to take Melbourne and Launceston airports into the next phase of growth and investment. A key focus for Lyell will be to build on the current transformation underway at Melbourne and Launceston airports to make our airports the best in the region.
