Speaker: Nick Easy, CEO Port of Melbourne Corporation Topic: “The Port of Melbourne: Future Plans for Victoria”
Nick Easy commenced as Chief Executive Officer of Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) in February 2014, providing leadership for the strategic management of Australia’s largest container and automotive port.
Prior to joining PoMC, Nick was the Chief Executive Officer at the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Service Board (MFB) from June 2011 until February 2014 where he was responsible for leading an organisation of 2,300 staff through a period of sector reform while it continued to deliver emergency services to the Victorian community and beyond.
Before taking up the MFB appointment, Nick had previously served with PoMC and its forerunner for over 13 years in various senior management positions, most notably as Executive General Manager Port Capacity and Executive General Manager Channel Deepening Project.
In the latter role, Nick’s leadership and project delivery acumen was at the forefront of the successful completion of the Channel Deepening Project, the largest and most complex marine infrastructure project in the long history of the port.
As a result, Nick’s extensive understanding of the port industry, together with his widely regarded project delivery experience, strengthens PoMC as it undertakes the $1.6 billion Port Capacity Project to accommodate future container and automotive trade volumes.
Nick also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Planning, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
